Owner of Joyful Literacy (JL) Interventions
Order of British Columbia, 2020
This event is not our usual workshop series. Instead, it is a presentation and gift of the greatest hits from our ten-year collection of research-based games, activities and strategies that inspire young children to read, write and practice new literacy skills with JOY.
Our Tour Guides have been working with Joyful Literacy Interventions for the past eight years in over 30 Summits. They have not only designed most of the hundreds of activities you will experience and take home, but they have also field-tested them in their own classrooms.
Chelsea Mytko and Nathan Reist
Kindergarten Teachers in B.C., Canada
This dynamic duo are Mission, BC brother and sister primary teachers who have been implementing research- and play-based practices for the past eight years in their own classrooms. They have been presenting their literacy success strategies in schools, school districts and Summits throughout the Pacific Northwest as well as Ontario. Chelsea and Nathan will be highlighting the Heggery resources which they are implementing in their classrooms.
